Hyderabad: Rachakonda Police Commissioner Sri Sudhir Babu IPS has issued an order banning the use of DJ sound systems in religious processions under the jurisdiction of the Rachakonda Police Commissionerate, as per the orders of the State Government. Numerous studies indicate that high-decibel noise generated by DJs poses risks of heart attacks and other cardiovascular issues, especially for heart patients, while also causing permanent hearing problems in children.
In light of this, the Commissioner of Police has made a critical decision to prohibit DJ sound mixers, amplifiers, and firecrackers in processions within the Rachakonda Commissionerate to protect public health, particularly for the elderly.
The CP stated that cases will be registered under BNS 223, 280, 292, 293, 324, BNSS 152, and Section 15 of the Environment Protection Act for violations of these regulations and government permissions. Violators will face a fine of ₹1 lakh and imprisonment of up to five years. Orders have been issued to officers across all zones under Rachakonda to ensure strict enforcement. The Commissioner emphasized that the decision was made after careful consideration of public concerns and inputs from officials on duty.
