Nizamabad, 27 FEB: Police official are carrying out re-verification of more than 500 passports, which issued between 2016-2021 in Bodhan, Nizamabad District.
During these 5 years period, 72 passports were detected as fake out of more than 500 passports issued.
- 32 passports were allegedly obtained by Rohingya migrants.
- 19 passports were allegedly obtained by Bangladesh and had left the country.
- Police are trying to trace out the remaining fake passport holders.
- So far police have arrested eight persons which includes two police personnel, two Rohingyas, three Mee-Seva operators and a mediator.
In just 2 days around 40 passports have been sent to four addresses in Bodhan town and found by postal department that only one genuine person resides here. the postal officials have returned all these passports to the Regional Passport Office in Hyderabad.
Consequently, it was decided to carry out a reverification of all passports issued between 2016-2021 in Bodhan Revenue Division.
Malleshwar, a Special Branch (SB) Police Sub-Inspector and Anil, head constable, who verified and cleared these five hundred passports between 2016-2021.
