Hyderabad Police Bans DJ Music for Navaratri, Dasara Celebrations Citing Safety and Noise Concerns

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad police have banned DJ music during the upcoming Navaratri and Dasara celebrations from October 3 to October 12, citing safety concerns and compliance with a Telangana High Court order. The court prohibits loud music between 10 PM and 6 AM. The decision, originally planned for the recent Ganesh festival, was expedited after a generator fire incident during the Milad-un-Nabi festival.

Key reasons for the ban include numerous public complaints about noise pollution and health risks to people near the loud sound systems. Another major factor is the disruption caused to police communication. Officers, who rely on walkie-talkies and whistles for crowd control and coordination, face difficulties when loud DJ music interferes with their ability to hear instructions, leading to confusion during large processions.

The decision has gained support from political leaders, public representatives, and event organizers in a recent meeting, underscoring the importance of maintaining public order and safety during these celebrations.
