Second Phase Covid-19 Vaccination, Started Today in Telangana, Health Minister Vaccinated

The self-registration process in the Co-WIN software to reserve a vaccine slot began around 9 am on Monday.

Hyderabad, 1st March:  Covid-19 vaccination drive for age above 60 years and individuals between 45-59 years with comorbidities (already are struggling with different ailments) started today in 102 vaccination centers across Telangana.

Vaccination services will be available only for individuals who have registered themselves online through Co-WIN mobile application.

The self-registration process in the Co-WIN software to reserve a vaccine slot began around 9 am on Monday.

Dr G Srinivasa Rao, Director of Public Health (DPH) said, “In the second phase of vaccination to priority groups, we are targeting about 15 lakh individuals in the State. Since we are expanding the scope of the vaccine drive, there is a definite need to quickly identify and address glitches, if any, in the system, especially with the Co-WIN software. Therefore, for the next two to three days, only online registrations will be entertained,”

The health authorities have advised recipients not to hurry to government hospitals for vaccine and get caught-up in overcrowding.

Health authorities take aim to conduct Covid-19 vaccination drive at 1,200 healthcare facilities including government hospitals and private healthcare facilities that are empaneled with Aarogyasri health insurance scheme.

Today, Health Minister Eatala Rajender had been among the first to get vaccinated with the Covid-19 vaccine at the Government hospital in Karimnagar.
