Asaduddin Owaisi booked for Hate Speech, Violating Covid Norms in UP

Barabanki UP: Asaduddin Owaisi, president AIMI (All India Majlis-e-Itthehad-ul-Muslimeen), has been booked allegedly for vitiating communal harmony through a provocative speech, violating covid-19 norms, and making indecent remarks against the prime minister and Uttar Pradesh chief minister in Barabanki district.

Owaisi on Thursday referred to the “100-year-old mosque was martyred in Barabanki,” in Ramsanehi Ghat which was demolished by the UP government by the UP administration, while addressing a public meeting in Barabanki.

According to police that through Asaduddin Owaisi’s comments that the administration had demolished a 100-year-old mosque and disposed of the rubble “instigated a particular community and tried to disturb communal harmony.”

According to Barabanki police, Owaisi was booked on Thursday night under Indian Penal Code Sections 153a, 188, along with IPC 269, 270 of the Epidemic Diseases Act for violating Covid protocol and the conditions laid down for the meeting, and also used indecent language against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the police said.
