Hyderabad, 01 April: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday conducted searches at several locations in Hyderabad and in Andhra Pradesh in connection with links to extremist groups.
According to media sources, The National Investigation Agency (NIA) carried out searches at the residences of Raghunath Verose (High Court advocate) and Dappu Ramesh (former member of Jana Natya Mandali) here on Wednesday evening for alleged links to the banned CPI (Maoist).
Two teams of National Investigation Agency (NIA) along with Andhra Pradesh police started the raids at Raghunath’s house at P&T Colony in Dilsukhnagar, and Ramesh’s house at Gudimalkapur, Mehdipatnam.
The NIA official told, incriminating materials, including documents and various digital devices, and revolutionary literature were found during the searches.
The NIA also searches in Andhra Pradesh, at the residences of journalist Pinaka Pani and Somashekar Sharma alias Arun in Kurnool, and VIRASAM senior leader Varalakshmi in Anantapur and other places.
