NIA Special Court Convicts ISIS-Daish Conspirator in Kerala

Kerala: NIA Special Court Ernakulam Convicts An ISIS- Daish Conspirator in ISIS Kasargod Module Case of Kerala. The quantum of punishment will be pronounced against him on 23 November.

According to NIA, the Special Court for NIA Cases, Ernakulam convicted accused Nashidul Hamzafar, 28 years old under sections 120B r/w 125 IPC besides sections 38 and 39 of UA (P) Act, 1967, in RC-02/2016/NIA/KOC.

The case originally registered by Chandera Police Station, Kasaragod District, Kerala was re-registered by NIA on activities of fourteen youth from Kasaragod district of Kerala who along with their families had exited India between May and July 2016 and joined the ISIS/ Daish.

NIA had arrested Nashidul Hamzafar, after the accused was deported from Kabul, Afghanistan. NIA had filed a charge sheet against him in March 2019.

In pursuance to the criminal conspiracy hatched with fugitive ISIS/ Daish activist accused Abdul Rashid Abdulla besides Ashfak Majeed and others, accused Nashidul Hamzafar had exited India on 3rd October 2017 and traveled to Muscat, Oman before traveling to Iran and had further reached Kabul, Afghanistan, where he was detained by Afghan Security Agencies during October 2017 for illegally entering the country and attempting to join his associates, in ISIS/ Daish,  NIA further said.
