More Than 1 Lakh Voters Removed in Hyderabad, Highest from  Chandrayangutta

Hyderabad: In Hyderabad district, more than 104,000 voters were excluded from the voter rolls within a single month. Between February 8 and March 15, a substantial 104,000 voters were removed from the voter list, with Chandrayangutta witnessing the highest number of deletions at 14,536, followed by Musheerabad (13,955) and Jubilee Hills (10,297).

Officials attribute these deletions to discrepancies such as non-standard house numbers listed on the electoral roll. Nearly 4,500 personnel were deployed to purify the electoral rolls and rectify such issues.

However, during the same period, Hyderabad also saw the addition of over 125,000 new voters. After accounting for both additions and removals, there was a net increase of only 21,000 voters. The total number of voters rose from 4.57 million to 4.59 million by April 25.

Postal voting for the upcoming elections is scheduled to take place from May 3 to 8, covering all 17 parliamentary areas in Telangana and seven areas in Hyderabad. Out of 7,357 postal ballots received for the Hyderabad seat, 5,989 have been accounted for. Additionally, home voting will also occur from May 3 to 8.
