Everywhere, Modiji is giving money to Adani, while I’m taking money from Adani

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy recently made a witty remark regarding the Adani Group’s involvement in Telangana, responding to questions about the business association with humor. During a media event in Maharashtra, Reddy commented, “Everywhere, Modiji is giving money to Adani, while I’m taking money from Adani,” drawing laughter from the audience. He criticized PM Modi’s policies, claiming they benefit billionaires like Adani and Ambani, while Telangana has managed to attract funding from Adani for state projects.

Reddy’s remarks come in light of Gautam Adani’s Rs 100 crore donation to Telangana’s proposed Young India Skill University and commitment to future projects in the state. Adani Logistics is also set to partner with the university as part of its industry initiatives. This collaboration, however, has led to criticism from Telangana’s opposition party, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), which highlighted the perceived contradiction. BRS pointed out that while Congress leader Rahul Gandhi often criticizes the Modi government’s ties with Adani, Congress leaders in Telangana have been open to business relationships with him.

Reddy, joined by Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar and Himachal Pradesh CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukku, is currently in Maharashtra to campaign for Congress candidates in the upcoming state elections as a representative for the Congress-Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance.
