‘I Am Not BJP Candidate’ Name Announced Without my Consent: Sikha Mitra West Bengal

Kolkata, 18 March: When BJP released its second list of candidates for the West Bengal elections on Thursday, Sikha Mitra, the BJP’s candidate from Kolkata’s Chowringhee assembly constituency blames the BJP party for announcing her name without her consent.

Sikha Mitra, the wife of late Congress leader Somen Mitra, has said that she will not contest the elections starting March 27.

Sikha Mitra, expressed her displeasure in this regard and said, ‘I do not want to be a candidate, I informed earlier. I don’t know why my name was announced like this. The name has been announced without informing me. It’s unfair. I will never contest elections on behalf of BJP, Also, I am not joining the BJP,”

Earlier she met BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari, there were rumours of her joining the BJP party.
