GHMC Elections on 1st December 2020
Hyderabad: Municipal elections for the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) will be held on 1st December 2020, and counting of ballot papers and results will be declared on December 4.
Interested candidates can file their election nominations from Wednesday, 18th November and the scrutiny of nominations papers will be completed by 21st November.
Last date for candidates who wants to withdraw from nominations is November 22 and the list of valid contesting candidates will be published on the same day.
C. Partha Sarathi, Telangana State Election Commissioner said the elections will be done using ballot papers as many political parties sought the use of ballot papers over EVMs due to different litigations and also as per recommendation of Supreme Court orders.
Election Commissioner, Partha Sarathi said, Flood distribution of the interim financial aid of 10,000 Rupees to rain-affected families by GHMC, is exempted from the model code of conduct. However, the distribution should be done only online transfer and no physical distribution of aid will not be permitted.
