Hyderabad: Tension started between locals at Begum Bazaar for the second straight day on Thursday over the construction of a public toilet near a graveyard Entrance at Feelkhana.
BJP part along with local traders gives a bandh call on Thursday in the Begum Bazaar and nearby markets.
Many shops are closed and several traders along with local BJP leaders attempted to take out a protest rally in the area but the police halted them saying, due to coronavirus restriction no rally is allowed and it was a violation of the Covid-19 guidelines.
Heavy police placed in the Begum Bazaar, Feelkhana and the surrounding area to avoid any untoward incident.
Teams from the Commissioner’s Task Force and Rapid Action Force are deployed in the area to assist the local police.
The construction works of toilets were stopped on Wednesday following a protest by MIM party workers and local people. Wednesday MIM party local leaders and workers protested demanding stopping the works of the public toilet as it is adjacent to the graveyard.
