Go-Karting Zone Sealed, 3 Arrested after a Student’s Death

The 21-year-old Varshini an engineering student, went to the play zone along with her brother and relatives for a go-karting ride, Sri Varshini, died after she allegedly suffered head injuries while driving a quadra cycle at the play zone.

Hyderabad: The Meerpet police on Friday arrested two partners G Lohith Reddy (29) and M Kiran Kumar (30) and am employee K Srikanth (23) of Hasten Go-Karting in Gurramguda on charges of claimed negligence that caused the death of Sri Varshini,

According to the police, they were running Go-Karting play zone without a valid License from the authorities and did not have safety measures in the center.

They were arrested for their negligence causing loss of life and for not following the SOPs issued by the government in view of the coronavirus pandemic, IPC section 304-A (causing death by negligence) and relevant sections of the Disaster Management Act-2005.

Following a request from police, the Executive Magistrate-cum-Tahsildar of Balapur Mandal issued orders to seal the go-karting zone, police added.

According to Rachakonda Police, She was riding the go-kart with her uncle, her helmet came off and her hair got caught in the rear wheel of quadra cycle with her head hitting the head-rest of the seat and she got injured.

She was shifted to a hospital, Sri Varshini, died after she allegedly suffered head injuries while driving a quadra cycle at the play zone.
