Hyderabad: GMR has come forward to adopt the Golconda Fort, newly appointed G. Kishan Reddy Union Tourism and Culture Minister said on Tuesday.
Kishan Reddy told reporters that concerned authorities are discussing this with GMR in this regard.
He said some private companies had come forward to undertake various works at the monuments under the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) with CSR funds. The works will include improving facilities for tourists, designing light and sound shows.
Tourism came to a halt for the last two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Kishan Reddy hoped that the vaccination of the majority of people by December this year, Tourism Department would launch a campaign to invite tourists from January 1. “Currently, we are not inviting tourists and we will be inviting tourists from the next year.
On the other side, Telangana Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar also discussing with Telangana State Heritage Authority various issues related to Qutb Shahi Tombs and Golconda Fort among 26 protected monuments at BRKR Bhavan on Tuesday
