The deceased were identified as Guru Shekhar Reddy, Dastagiramma, and their daughters Pavitra and Lakshmi.

Amaravati: Four members of a family died when the mud roof of their house collapsed in Chinnavangali village, Nandyal district, late Thursday night.

According to Allagadda sub-divisional police officer Sheik Sharifuddin, Guru Sekhar Reddy, his wife Dastagiramma, and their two minor daughters were asleep when the roof, weakened by recent heavy rains, collapsed around 12:30 am. The roof, which also had wooden beams, could not withstand the weight and gave way.

Upon hearing a loud thud, neighbors rushed to the spot and found the family members dead. Reddy’s second daughter was away in Kadapa district at the time of the incident. A case has been registered.
