Hyderabad: Pittala Yellappa, a 45-year-old man from Navandgi village in Basheerabad mandal, Vikarabad district, left home for work two days ago and did not return. On Saturday night, his family received a call from Vikarabad railway police, claiming he had died in a train accident based on his mobile phone found near the body. Grieving, the family identified the disfigured body as Yellappa and prepared for his funeral.
On Sunday, a relative spotted Yellappa in Tandur and informed him about the burial preparations. Yellappa quickly contacted his family, confirming he was alive, and rushed home, where his relieved family broke down in tears. He reported to the railway police that his mobile phone had been stolen. The police suspect the deceased had Yellappa’s phone and are working to identify the man who died in the accident.
