Kabul: A health official and a Taliban official said the toll of Afghans killed had risen to 72, and 13 US soldiers In Kabul Airport Blasts.

A health official and a Taliban official said the toll of Afghans killed had risen to 72, including 28 Taliban members.

However, Taliban spokesman later denied that any of their fighters guarding the airport perimeter had been killed in the twin blasts.

Earlier, A suspected two suicide bombs exploded outside Kabul airport on Thursday, killing several US and civilians including children, and injuring Taliban guards.

US army also confirms the second explosion near Kabul airport and “a number of US and civilian casualties” Pentagon press secretary John Kirby confirmed that there was at least one other explosion near the airport, this at or near the Baron Hotel. He said he can confirm that the explosion at Abbey Gate was a “result of a complex attack that resulted in a number of US & civilian casualties.”

Note: The term “casualties” can refer to those wounded or dead.
