Hyderabad: D Rajshekar Reddy of the Congress party candidate has won the Lingojiguda ward by-election by a margin of around 1,200 votes by defeating rival BJP candidate Akhil Goud.
The ward by-election was required following the death of corporator-elect Akula Ramesh Goud who contested on behalf of the BJP in the GHMC elections held in December 2020.
The TRS at the request of BJP leaders did not contest the election on humanitarian grounds.
