Salman Khan: Lawrence Bishnoi Gang Wanted to Kill Me and My Family

Mumbai: Bollywood actor Salman Khan informed police that he believed the Lawrence Bishnoi gang was responsible for the firing at his Mumbai residence in April, intending to kill him and his family. This statement is part of the charge sheet filed by Mumbai Police.

Khan recounted hearing a firecracker-like sound while asleep at his Galaxy Apartments home on April 14. Around 4:55 am, his bodyguard informed him that two individuals on a motorbike had fired at the first-floor balcony. Khan’s bodyguard lodged a complaint at Bandra police station.

Khan later learned that Lawrence Bishnoi and his brother Anmol Bishnoi confessed to the attack in a Facebook post. The actor cited previous threats from the gang and noted an incident in 2022 where a threat letter was found near his building and an email threat in March 2023. Additionally, two individuals attempted to trespass into his Panvel farmhouse using fake identities in January 2024.

Earlier this month, police filed a 1,735-page charge sheet in the firing case before the special court for Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act cases. The court found sufficient material to proceed against the six arrested accused: Vickykumar Gupta, Sagarkumar Pal, Sonukumar Bishnoi, Anujkumar Thapan (now deceased), Mohd Rafiq Choudhary, and Harpal Singh. Thapan allegedly committed suicide in police custody, and the other five are now in judicial custody.
