Amberpet Flyover to Open for Traffic in a Month

Hyderabad: The Amberpet flyover in Hyderabad is nearing completion and is expected to open for traffic in one month. This update was provided by the state government to Telangana Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy during a review meeting held at the Dr. BR Ambedkar Telangana State Secretariat on June 19.

In February, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner Ronald Rose inspected the flyover’s progress and instructed officials to expedite the work. Minister Reddy emphasized that any road damage would hold both contractors and responsible officials accountable, highlighting the importance of quality and timely completion of road projects.

During the meeting, Minister Reddy also addressed various ongoing projects across the state, stressing the need to accelerate work on highways and plan for connecting roads between the Regional Ring Road (RRR) and the Outer Ring Road (ORR). He mentioned ongoing repair works on the Hyderabad-Vijayawada highway, with a vision to transform it into a greenfield highway.

Furthermore, the minister expressed dissatisfaction with the slow progress of the Uppal elevated corridor and directed officials to either change the contractor or request an extension to complete the works swiftly. The Uppal project is 82% complete, awaiting final permissions from the forest department for the last kilometer.

Overall, the state government is pushing for rapid and efficient completion of infrastructure projects to improve connectivity and road safety across Telangana.
