Air India to Serve Halal Meat Only for Pre-Booked Muslim Meals; Other Meals Are Not Halal by Default

On flights to and from Saudi Arabia, including those to Jeddah, Dammam, Riyadh, and Medinah (and on Haj flights), all meals will be halal by default, accompanied by a Halal Certificate

New Delhi: Air India has clarified its meal options, specifically its Hindu and Muslim Meal (MOML) services. The airline states that its Hindu Meal option excludes beef and pork. However, passengers who wish to pre-book a Muslim Meal (MOML), which is halal-certified, can do so.

In a recent press release, Air India stated that the pre-booked MOML meal will have a special sticker indicating it as such. A Halal Certificate will be available specifically for these meals. Furthermore, on flights to and from Saudi Arabia, including those to Jeddah, Dammam, Riyadh, and Medinah (and on Haj flights), all meals will be halal by default, accompanied by a Halal Certificate. This initiative seems to cater to religious dietary preferences for passengers in specific sectors.
