AIMIM to Contest 3 Seat in Tamil Nadu, Congress 25, BJP 20 in Alliance with Regional Parties

Chennai: AIMIM in Tamil Nadu has agreed up with TTV Dhinakaran’s Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) for alliance in the Assembly election in Tamil Nadu to be held next month.

AIMIM and AMMK agreed of its seat share for the April 6 election, the AIMIM will contest following three of Tamil Nadu’s 234 seats

TTV Dhinakaran today issued a statement on Twitter that Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) in Tamil Nadu has joined hands with Asaduddin Owaisi’s AIMIM for the upcoming assembly elections in the state, Owaisi confirmed to TNM that he would be addressing a mega rally in Chennai with TTV Dhinakaran on March 12.

“In the alliance led by the AMMK, Mr. Asaduddin Owaisi, MP and the AIMIM Party led by him has been allotted 3 constituencies in Tamil Nadu, namely

  1. Vaniyambadi (47),
  2. Krishnagiri (53), and
  3. Sankarapuram (79).

TTV Dhinakaran, nephew of VK Sasikala (who quits politics ahead of the election), floated his own outfit after Sasikala was removed as AIADMK chief after her four-year jail sentence in a corruption case.

DMK and Congress agreed of its seat share and the DMK has allotted 25 seats to ally Congress for next month’s elections in Tamil Nadu. 

AIADMK and BJP alliance sealed, Bhartiya Janata party (BJP) to contest from 20 seats.

The AIMIM, was initially inclined towards the DMK-Congress alliance but allegedly did not get the response it was anticipated, possibly because of the alliance with the Indian Union Muslim League.

The results of the Tamil Nadu election will be declared on 2nd May.
