Hathras, Uttar Pradesh, 02 March: Gaurav Sharma who was arrested in July 2018 for a sex assault case, and released on bail, shot dead the girl father on Monday in Hathras district, Uttar Pradesh.
According to Hathras police, an argument at on Monday evening between the family of the woman and the accused’s family at a village temple resulted in the shooting and the death of the woman’s father.
According to Hathras Police, Gaurav Sharma, the accused, was jailed for a month in 2018 after a molestation case was filed against him by the woman’s father. He was granted bail by a local court after a month and had been out of the prison since then.
Since then, both families were hostile to each other. An argument occurred on Monday evening between the family of the woamn and the accused’s family at a village temple. Gaurav Sharma and the woman’s father intervened and the argument between the men intensified. After this, Gaurav flew into a rage and called some boys form his family to the scene and shot at the man,”
Hathras Police chief Vineet Jaiswal said in a video statement released on Twitter.
Inspector General of Police Aligarh Zone Aligarh said in a video statement released on Twitter.
Videos shot by local journalists on Monday showed the woman crying outside a police station and demanding justice.
“Please give me justice… please give me justice. First, he molested me and now he has shot my father. He had come to our village. There were six-seven people. My father had no enmity against anyone. His name is Gaurav Sharma,” she is heard saying.
