Hyderabad: H. Sumeeth (19) is arrested by Mangalhat police in Hyderabad for allegedly raping a 9-year-old girl.

According to police, the family returned home after Ganesh idol immersion, and both the father and mother of the victim girl visiting a police station at midnight over a dispute on a family fight.

When the victim girl who woke up from her sleep and went out searching for parent around 1 AM on Thursday, Sumeeth a band worker, addicted to marijuana and alcohol found her alone and lured her saying he would search for her parents and took her to a secluded place, where he raped the 9-years-old girl.

When the girl began screaming for help, Sumeeth fled the spot. Hearing her scream, neighbors rushed to her rescue.

Police arrested Sumeeth after verifying him on CCTV footage. He was booked under relevant cases.
