Yusuf Pathan, Mahua Moitra, Shatrughan Sinha Wons for TMC in West Bengal

Kolkata: In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections for the Baharampur constituency, Yusuf Pathan, the candidate from the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC), has emerged victorious. Pathan defeated the long-time incumbent, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury of the Indian National Congress (INC), who had been a significant political figure in Baharampur for many years. Pathan’s win marks a significant shift in the political landscape of Baharampur, traditionally a stronghold of Chowdhury. Pathan’s lead was substantial throughout the counting process, ultimately securing his position as the elected representative for the constituency. Mahua Moitra has successfully retained her seat in the Krishnanagar constituency in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Running as a candidate for the All India Trinamool Congress (TMC), she led with a significant margin of over 57,000 votes against her closest competitor, Amrita Roy of the BJP. This election was marked by fierce competition between the TMC and BJP in West Bengal.
