Covid Positive Youth Spend 11 Days on Tree as Isolation in Telangana

Hyderabad: Ramawat Shiva Naik, an 18-year-old student,  spent 11 days on a tree to isolate himself after being tested covid-19 positive on May 4 in Nalgonda, Telangana.

With no proper place to isolate at his home, and to protect his parents and sisters from covid-19 infection, Shiva isolated himself on a tree for 11 days.

Shiva decided to isolate on a tree and build a bed made of bamboo sticks and fixed to the branches of a tree in the compound of his home.

Shiva remained in touch with family and friends through his mobile phone, which also proved useful to kill the time. He also sent a few messages calling upon local authorities to set up an isolation center in the area.

Responding to his appeal and growing requests from people in his village, the authorities set up an isolation center in the student hostel late last week and also convinced Shiva to move to the center. He will soon be completing his isolation period.
