Hyderabad: A 17-year-old named Mohammed Ibrahim died on Sunday, July 21, after being kicked in the stomach by a horse during a Muharram procession. Ibrahim, a resident of Ghazimillat colony and a second-year intermediate student at a private college, attended the Alam procession at Engine Bowli, Falaknuma, with friends on Thursday evening when the incident occurred.
According to the police, the victim was walking along with other participants when a horse that was part of the procession kicked him in the stomach. The man fell on the road and was shifted to hospital after he complained of stomach pain.
Initially, he was taken to a hospital due to severe stomach pain, but his family opted to bring him home instead of transferring him to a better-equipped hospital as advised by doctors. Two days later, Ibrahim’s condition worsened, and he was taken to Osmania Hospital, where doctors found severe liver damage. Despite medical efforts, Ibrahim succumbed to his injuries. The police have registered a case and are investigating further.
