Hyderabad: A team of doctors, led by renowned gynecologist and obstetrician Dr. Sahiba Shakoor, performed a C-section on a 26-year-old woman from Kalapathar at Mina Multispecialty Hospital in Mehdipatnam. The woman gave birth to quadruplets: two boys and two girls.
The woman, referred to as Asma (name changed), was initially referred to Mina Hospital after an abdominal scan revealed she was carrying four fetuses. Throughout her pregnancy, the team at Mina Hospital provided special supervision and care, addressing issues such as fluctuating blood pressure and sugar levels.
At around 30 weeks of pregnancy, Asma experienced severe pain and was admitted to Mina Hospital. The surgical team included Dr. Sahiba Shakoor, Dr. Ishrat, and Dr. Ramana Priya, with anesthesia administered by Dr. Asri and Dr. Afrin. The newborns’ weights were 1.17 kg and 1.2 kg for the boys, and 1.06 kg and 1.05 kg for the girls.
All four children are currently in intensive care under the supervision of Dr. Sachin, a pediatrician.
