Fear in Shamshabad as Unknown Animal Attacks Dogs, Calf

Hyderabad: Tension gripped Ghansmiyaguda village in Shamshabad mandal on Sunday after a wild animal, suspected to be a leopard, attacked several dogs and a calf. The animals suffered bite injuries in a nearby agricultural field, causing panic among residents who alerted forest officials.

A team of forest officials investigated the area for leopard pug marks but suspects it could have been either a hyena or a large dog breed, as the injuries were on the stomach rather than the neck, which is typical of leopard attacks.

Officials plan to intensify patrolling and may install camera traps. This incident follows a leopard sighting at Shamshabad airport last month, where a leopard was eventually captured and released into the Amrabad reserve after being examined by the Nehru Zoo Park veterinary team.
