Union Bank to Play Hyderabad Cricket League Matches: Telangana High Court

Hyderabad:  Telangana High Court stayed all further cricket league matches till the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) allowed the Union Bank of India’s cricket team to participate in the three-day league tournament.

After the merging of Andhra Bank with the Union Bank, the Union Bank team had requested the HCA to continue to play in the local leagues.

Initially High Court had allowed the Union Bank to play in the leagues in the first judgement. The Hyderabad Cricket Association with President Mohammed Azharuddin saying that he will seek legal help in this issue.

A week later, HCA secretary R Vijayanand agreed to allow the Union Bank to play in the league but later Vijayanand reversed his decision and asked the joint secretary to wait for a few more days before allowing the team to play in the league.

The Union Bank went back to the Court on HCA’s refusal to play them in the league.

Finally, after the High court judgement allows Union Bank to play the fourth round of the leagues matches from Wednesday.
