UAE Suspends Flights from India, Saudi Arabia Bans Travel to UAE Amid Delta Coronavirus Variant

Dubai/Riyadh: Emirates airline suspends passenger flights from India until further notice announced on Friday

Passengers who have traveled through India in the last 14 days will not be allowed to arrive in UAE from any other destination.

However, UAE citizens, Golden Visas holders, and members of diplomatic missions who comply with the updated Covid-19 protocols are exempted from the restrictions.

In addition to India, UAE also restricted other countries like Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, South Africa, Namibia, Zambia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Uganda, Sierra Leone, Liberia, and Nigeria.

In another development, Saudi Arabia Bans Travel to UAE, Saudi Arabia ban travel to and from the UAE, Ethiopia, and Vietnam, over concerns about the spread of more infectious variants of the coronavirus announced early on Saturday except without prior permission

Flights to and from the three countries will be suspended from Sunday, July 4, and anyone who arrives in Saudi Arabia after this date will be required to undergo institutional quarantine, including Saudi citizens.

In addition to UAE, Saudi Arabia also restricted other countries like Ethiopia and Vietnam, and Afghanistan.
