Hyderabad, 09 March: Two Notorious burglars, Mallachervu Rama Rao and Kosuri Srinivasa Rao, were arrested by the Medipally police and recovered 520 grams of gold jewelry, and 500 grams of silver ornaments and two motorcycles from the accused. the value of the seized items is estimated to be Rupees 24 lakh.
Mallachervu Rama Rao was involved in 61 criminal cases, mostly house burglaries, and Srinivasa Rao was named in 27 criminal cases.
According to police, both accused select apartments where the watchmen are not alert. They used to enter those apartments, flats and steal gold and other valuables. Both were arrested at a hospital lane at Medipally after being identified by surveillance/CCTV cameras.
Police also arrested one of their partners Saritha who helped them to sell, dispose of the solen properties.
According to police, both was in jail when they met and had promised Saritha’s husband Ganesh that they would arrange some money for his wife who could fight his detention under the Preventive Detention Act (PD Act)
