Hyderabad, 1 6 April: The by-election of GHMC ward election was required following the sudden death of BJP elected candidate Akula Ramesh Goud who died even before the swearing-in ceremony.
The Lingojiguda division by-election to be held on April 30, and the BJP has decided to field Ramesh Goud’s son Akhil Goud for the same constituency.
However, TRS has decided not to contest Lingojiguda division by-election to pave way for the unanimous election of BJP candidate Akhil Goud, son of deceased elected member Akula Ramesh Goud on humanitarian grounds.
KT Rama Rao, TRS working president announced that the decision was made by Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao following a request from the BJP State leaders, in this regard.
Earlier, BJ delegation led by former BJP MLC N Ramchander Rao met KTR and appealed to him to facilitate the unanimous election of the BJP candidate.
