Traffic Diversions for 45 Days at Airport, Shamshabad Police Station Limits: Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The Cyberabad police have announced traffic diversions in the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) and Shamshabad police station areas due to the construction of a six-lane main carriageway with service roads connecting the elevated corridor at Shamshabad for airport traffic. The road stretch from RGIA to the Hyderabad approach road at the Kishanguda ramp will be closed for 45 days.

Traffic from RGIA towards Hyderabad will be diverted towards the Bangalore exit and take a U-turn at the Trauma Centre on NH-44. Traffic from Hyderabad towards RGIA will be regulated as usual. These changes will take effect from Saturday, August 3, 2024, according to Cyberabad Police Commissioner Avinash Mohanty.

·  Reason for Diversion: Construction of a six-lane main carriageway with service roads and drains from KM 9/900 to KM 19/948. This includes providing a 7.0m width ramp (RGIA to Hyderabad) to connect the elevated corridor at Shamshabad.

·  Affected Area: RGIA Police Station limits, Shamshabad.

·  Traffic Diversion Details:

  • Closure: The RGIA to Hyderabad approach road at the Kishanguda ramp will be closed for 45 days.
  • Diversion Route: Traffic from RGIA towards Hyderabad will be diverted towards the Bangalore exit and will take a U-turn at the Trauma Centre on NH-44.
  • Regulation: Traffic from Hyderabad towards RGIA will be regulated as usual.

·  Effective Date: These rules will come into force from August 3, 2024.
