Hyderabad: During the Ganesh Visarjan procession at Charminar on September 17, tensions arose when a non-Muslim woman wearing a burkha was spotted with her friend.
A few onlookers became suspicious upon noticing the woman, wearing a burkha, accompanied by a boy from another community. When questioned by the group, the woman admitted she was non-Muslim and had worn the burkha to hide her identity.
A local youth, sensing something unusual, alerted the police. Acting swiftly, the police removed the pair from the scene and took them to a nearby police station for questioning, attempting to prevent any escalation.
Fearing protests, the police heightened security around the station to manage the situation effectively.
