Tens of People Died due to Heavy Rain in Hyderabad

Eight members of a single family were washed away while standing in front of their house. Police, fire and emergency teams could only trace three bodies from near the Falaknuma RuB. The other persons are yet to be traced.

Hyderabad: Tens of people including women and small children, were confirmed dead in a separate incidents due to heavy rain in the city since Tuesday night.

Incident at Ghouse Nagar, Mohammedia Hills in Bandlaguda

At Ghouse Nagar, Mohammedia Hills in, Bandlaguda, eight persons, including three children, died when a granite boundary wall collapsed on two asbestos-roofed houses. The victims were identified as Samad Rabbani (35) Saba Hashmi (26) Fouzia Naaz (36) Syed Zain (3) Zohaid (19 days) Zakira Begum (50) Syed Sadeq (1) and Syeda Anwari (3). All of them died on the spot.

The incident happened around 10 PM, when a huge boundary wall of a private project collapsed on more than 10 houses at Mohammedia Hills in, Bandlaguda. Nine persons including three children were killed, while five victims are from one single family in a wall collapse incident reported at Ghousenagar in Chandrayangutta on Tuesday night. The condition of four of the injured was stated to be critical.

The GHMC Disaster Management Wing personnel with the assistance of the local police and residents pulled out the bodies from the debris.

Three people died when the wall of a house collapsed. The victims were identified as Mohammed Ameer (18), Kareema (33) and Sahil (2). One boy Ayaan aged around four years is reportedly missing.

Incident at Banjara Hills

A doctor got electrocuted while trying to drain water from the cellar of his building on Wednesday. The victim Satish Kumar Reddy had gone to the cellar and switched on the motor to pump out rainwater when he was electrocuted and died at that moment.

Incident in Amberpet

Raj Kumar, 32, of Vinayaka Nagar went into the cellar of his building to pump out the water and was electrocuted.

Incident at Ibrahimpatnam,

A mother and daughter of class nine student died after the roof and wall of their house collapsed on Tuesday night. Suvarna (40) and Shravanthi (15), were sleeping in the house when the mishap occurred.

Incident at Nagole in Bandlaguda,

A postman, Sundar Raju (50), a resident of Mallikarjun Nagar accidentally fell into the water and went missing yet to be traced even on Wednesday.

Incident at Dilsukhnagar,

A three-year-old toddler Ajith Sai, who drowned in the rainwater filled cellar of an apartment at on Wednesday.
