Hyderabad: The Telangana government is set to upgrade its Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) into Advanced Technology Centres (ATCs) with an investment of Rs 2,324.21 crore. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy will lay the foundation stone for the first ATC at Mallepally ITI. This initiative aims to enhance the skills of the youth to meet the growing industrial demand for skilled manpower.
The state has partnered with Tata Technologies Limited (TTL) for this project, with a ten-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to upgrade 65 ITIs. The project will see TTL contributing Rs 2,016.25 crore, while the state government will invest Rs 307.96 crore.
Key aspects of the initiative include:
- Training Capacity: TTL will employ 130 experts to provide training. Annually, 15,860 individuals will be trained in six long-term courses and 31,200 in short-term courses.
- Impact: Over the next decade, the ATCs are expected to train four lakh people, significantly boosting the skill set of Telangana’s youth.
- Role of ATCs: These centers will serve as skill development hubs and technology centers for aspiring entrepreneurs and industries.
- Job Opportunities: TTL will offer job opportunities to those trained at the ATCs.
