Telangana to Develop ‘Fourth City’ Near Hyderabad with AI and Health Hub

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy announced the establishment of a ‘fourth city’ in Mucharla, on the outskirts of Hyderabad. This new development will follow Hyderabad, Secunderabad, and Cyberabad, aiming to be a ‘future city’ with extensive infrastructure and global investment appeal. Key features include:

  1. AI and Health Tourism Hub:
    • A 1,000-acre health tourism hub offering advanced medical treatment.
    • A 200-acre Artificial Intelligence (AI) hub.
  2. Sports and Recreation:
    • Facilities for international cricket tournaments.
    • A world-class cricket stadium, with discussions held with BCCI.
    • A golf club.
  3. Employment and Skill Development:
    • Employment avenues and skill development initiatives.
  4. Infrastructure and Connectivity:
    • Metro rail connectivity to enhance accessibility.

The development aims to transform Mucharla into a major investment destination. However, legal concerns were raised by BRS MLA K T Rama Rao regarding the land, which was previously designated for a pharma city.

Political debates ensued in the Legislative Assembly, particularly following CM Reddy’s comments about certain members, which led to a temporary adjournment by Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar amid protests.
