Jeddah: Mohammed Sharif (39) from Telangana’s Kamareddy district, who arrived in Saudi Arabia on June 3 to work as a driver, was found dead in a park on June 7, four days after his arrival. He died of a heart attack. His body was identified 45 days later and repatriated two days ago. After losing contact with his family, who found his phone switched off, the police discovered his body in Aziziah Park. Despite identifying him as an Indian national, no one claimed the body until Indian social worker Shihab Kottukad traced his family using biometric details. Sharif had been reported as an absconder (Huroob) by his employer, complicating repatriation. Kottukad, with the Indian Embassy’s support, completed the legal formalities to bring the body back to India.
