Hyderabad, 28 March: Telangana government has issued orders imposing restrictions on public rallies, processions, public celebrations, gatherings etc. in connection with religious events includes religious events such as Shab-e-Barat, Holi, Ugadi, Rama Navami, Mahavir Jayanti, Good Friday, Ramzan, in public places, grounds, parks in the State till 30th April, 2021.
Any violation in this regard will attract prosecution under relevant sections of Disaster Management Act, 2005 and IPC. CS

The number of COVID-19 cases in the country has been showing a rising trend since last few weeks. In reference read above, MHA has also issued an order laying down guidelines for effective control of COVID-19 providing for states to impose local restrictions to prevent spread of COVID-19 based on assessment of the situation.
2. Congregations pose considerable threat of rapid transmission of COVID-19. Therefore, it is decided that public celebrations/observances should not be allowed upcoming religious events such as Shab-e-Barat, Holi, Ugadi, Rama Navami, Mahavir Jayanti, Good Friday, Ramzan, etc. till 30th April 2021.
3. During the above period, no rallies, processions, public celebrations, gatherings, congregations etc. shall be allowed in connection with religious events in public places, grounds, parks and religious places in the state.
4. Any violation of the aforesaid instructions shall result in prosecution under Sections 51 to 60 of Disaster Management Act 2005 and Section 188 of IPC as well as other applicable laws.
5. In exercise of powers conferred under the Disaster Management Act 2005, the undersigned, in his capacity as Chairperson, State Executive Committee hereby issues directions to all Collectors & District Magistrates and Commissioners/Superintendents of Police in the state to strictly implement the above instructions.
