Students Use Umbrellas in Class Due to Leaky Ceiling in Mancherial, Telangana

Hyderabad: Students in Kushnepalli village, Nennal mandal, were compelled to attend classes holding umbrellas on Wednesday due to water seepage from the ceiling of their school. A photograph capturing this scene went viral on social media.

The students of Class VIII had no choice but to use umbrellas to stay dry as water leaked through cracks in the classroom ceiling, exacerbated by recent heavy rains.

Local residents expressed concerns over the inconvenience caused by the leaks and the lack of sufficient classrooms. They urged officials to take prompt action to sanction additional classrooms under the Amma Adarsha Pathashala scheme.

District Educational Officer Yadaiah stated that measures are being taken to address the school’s issues. An engineer has been dispatched to investigate the cause of the seepage and fix the problem promptly. He noted that the school is in poor condition, and the seepage might be due to inadequate maintenance.
