Hyderabad: Several key leaders belongs to different students unions were taken into preventive custody in the city ahead of the ‘Chalo Secretariat‘, program planned on Monday.
Detention of Student Leaders:
- Police Actions: Ahead of the planned ‘Chalo Secretariat’ rally, police conducted operations at hostels in Osmania University, Ashoknagar, Dilsukhnagar, Secunderabad, and other locations, detaining several key student leaders from different unions.
- Preventive Custody: The detentions were a preventive measure in response to the planned protest rally.
Protest Rally Details:
- Protest Demands: The ‘Chalo Secretariat’ rally was organized by unemployed youth associations and student unions, demanding the postponement of the Group-II and III exams and the District Selection Committee (DSC) test for teacher recruitment.
- Police Deployment: In response to the ‘Secretariat Seige’ call, hundreds of policemen have been deployed around the Secretariat and the roads leading to it, with barricades and thorough checks in place.
Student Gatherings:
- Ashoknagar March: Several students gathered in Ashoknagar with plans to march towards the Secretariat. The police presence in Ashoknagar is substantial to prevent the march.
- Women Participation: A significant number of women students are expected to participate in the protest rally.
