Student Commits Suicide, No Mobile, Laptop for Online Classes in Shadnagar

Hyderabad: Aishwarya Reddy, 19-year-old student, who was depressed over not having proper laptop or mobile to attend online classes, allegedly commits suicide by hanging herself in her house in Shadnagar.

Aishwarya Reddy student of BSc Mathematics in Lady Shri Ram College for Women in New Delhi, a resident of Shadnagar and had returned to the city this March when the Covid-19 pandemic began.

According to her relatives she was depressed over not having a good laptop or even a smartphone to attend online classes.

In a suicide note allegedly written by Aishwarya Reddy, wrote that her family was facing financial issues ‘because’ of her and that she felt she was burden to the family.

Aishwarya, who came from a poor family her father Srinivas Reddy, being work as mechanic and her mother Sumathi, a tailor. Her parents had mortgaged their small house for Rs 2 lakh and pledged their jewelry to support her education.
