West Bengal, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Assam, Puducherry State Elections to Start March 27, Results on May 2
New Delhi, 26 FEB: StateElections in Assam, Kerala, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal will be held from 27th March and the results to be announced on 2nd May, the Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora said today.
- West Bengal, 294 Seats, will vote in eight phases i.e., 27 March, 1, 6, 10, 17, 22, 26, and 29 April.
- Tamil Nadu, 234 Seats, will vote in a single round on 6th April.
- Kerala, 140 Seats, will vote in a single round on 6th April.
- Puducherry, 30 Seats will vote in a single round on 6th April.
- Assam, 126 Seats, will vote in three phases i.e., 27 March, 1, and 6 April.
- The model code of conduct is now in place in all the states.
- More than 18 crores are eligible to vote in these elections, Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora said.
- Poll officers will be vaccinated as frontline workers.
- New rules for digital sites would be applied on social media.
