Sub Inspector SR Nagar PS, Arrested for Taking Bribe by ACB in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, 22 FEB: A Sub-inspector Bellana Bhaskar Rao of the SR Nagar police station was caught red-handed by the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials on Monday when he allegedly asked and accepted Rs 25,000 a bribe from a person.

Bhaskar Rao, allegedly asks a bribe of Rs 25,000 from Mohammed Khasim to hold any further action in a criminal case and also to have an impact on civil supplies officials to release a seized vehicle.

The complaint made by Mohammed Khasim himself, the Anti Corruption Bureau set up a trap and arrested the Sub Inspector red-handed when he accepted Rs 25,000. He was later producd before court.

Today, i.e., on 22.02.2021 at about 1820 Hrs, Sri Bellana Bhaskar Rao, Sub-Inspector of Police, SR Nagar Police Station, Hyderabad city was caught red handed by ACB when he demanded and accepted bribe amount of Rs. 25,000/- from the Complainant Sri. Mohammed Khasim for not involving him in a criminal case registered at SR Nagar PS and to influence the Civil Supplies department officials to release the van of the Complainant which was seized in that case. Bribe amount of Rs. 25,000/- was recovered from the possession of accused officer Sri. B.Bhaskar Rao. The accused officer performed his duty improperly and dishonestly to obtain undue advantage.

The above accused officer is being arrested and produced before the Hon’ble Principal Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases, Hyderabad.

The case is Under Investigation.
