Shops, Restaurants in Hyderabad to Remain Open Till 1 AM Midnight : CM Revanth Reddy

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has announced that all restaurants and other establishments in Hyderabad can stay open until 1 am. This decision, conveyed verbally in the Telangana Assembly on Friday, August 2, excludes liquor shops, which must adhere to their previous closing times.

The announcement followed concerns raised by AIMIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi about the early and forced closing of businesses in Hyderabad. Owaisi highlighted issues with policing, particularly in the Old City, where police had reportedly chased and assaulted youth gathered outside their homes after 11 pm.

Addressing these concerns, Reddy promised that all establishments, except liquor shops, in Hyderabad, Cyberabad, and Rachakonda Commissionerate, would be allowed to operate until 1 am. He emphasized that his stance against extending liquor shop hours remains firm to discourage excessive consumption.
