Hyderabad,11 March: Tonight on 27th of Rajjab (Islamic month) Muslims across the city being observed Shab-e-Miraj (night of ascension) on Thursday night.
Thousands of Muslims in mosques across the city attended the programs and speeches to mark the occasion.
He said that the Shab-e-Miraj is the time for Muslims to spend in prayers. Last year due to Covid-19 pandemic and lockdown restrictions crowd was not allowed into the historic mosque.
Special religious speeches and programs were organized inside the mosques across the city.

The “Israʾ and Miʿraj” are the two parts of a Night Journey that, according to Islam, the Islamic prophet Muhammad took during a single night around the year 621. Within Islam it signifies both a physical and spiritual journey. Prophet Muhammad is said to have travelled on animal, called “Buraq” (lightning) to the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Palastine. At Masjid-e-Aqsa, Muhammad is said to have led the other prophets in prayer. His subsequent ascent into the heavens came to be known as the Miʿraj. Muhammad’s journey and ascent are marked as one of the most celebrated dates in the Islamic calendar.
