Secundrabad IAS Aspirant Tania Soni Died in Delhi Coaching Center Flood

Hyderabad: In New Delhi, heavy rains led to sudden flooding in the basement of Rau’s Coaching Center, resulting in the deaths of three IAS aspirants. The victims, identified by Delhi Police, were Tania Soni from Telangana, Shreya Yadav from Uttar Pradesh, and Navin Delvin from Kerala. The students were trapped for over four hours before succumbing to the flood.

Tania Soni, aged 25, had joined the coaching center a year ago with the aspiration of becoming an IAS officer. Her father, Vijay Kumar, works with the Singareni Collieries Company Limited and resides in Mancherial. The family was en route to Lucknow when they received the tragic news and rushed to Delhi to bring Tania’s body back home. Tania, a resident of Secunderabad and a Delhi University graduate, was highly motivated and kept in daily contact with her family about her studies.

In response to the incident, an FIR has been registered at Rajendra Nagar police station against the coaching center, its management, and caretakers. Two individuals, the owner and the coordinator, have been detained, with further investigations underway.

At IAS Coaching Academy, Delhi Talked to Telangana Resident Commissioner about the incident. It is sad that three candidates lost their lives in this tragedy. Tania Soni, daughter of Bihar resident Vijay Kumar, who was working as a manager in Singareni, was also among the dead. After speaking to Vijay Kumar, the Resident Commissioner was instructed to provide necessary assistance on behalf of the state government.

Union Minister G Kishan Reddy expressed his grief over Tania’s death and assured that his team is assisting the family and coordinating with authorities to complete the necessary formalities promptly. He extended his support and prayers to Tania’s family during this time of immense sorrow.
