Mumbai: Indian cricketer Sarfaraz Khan has had a week full of personal and professional milestones. On October 21, Sarfaraz and his wife were blessed with a baby boy, just two days after he smashed a brilliant 150 runs against New Zealand in the first Test match at Bengaluru’s M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
The 26-year-old made it to the playing XI after Shubman Gill was unavailable due to a minor neck injury. Sarfaraz celebrated his maiden Test century, hitting 18 boundaries and three sixes in a knock of 150 off 195 balls. Although India lost the match by eight wickets, Sarfaraz’s stellar performance provided hope for a comeback in the series.
Sharing the joyous news on social media, Sarfaraz and his father, Naushad Khan, posted heartwarming pictures of the newborn. Tomorrow, October 22, also marks Sarfaraz’s 27th birthday, making this an extra special period for the cricketer. There is also buzz about him being included in India’s squad for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy tour to Australia, as his recent form has impressed fans and selectors alike.
