Reservation for Muslims a “Social Justice, Not Appeasement”: Nara Lokesh (TDP)

Hyderabad: Nara Lokesh, TDP leader and son of Chandrababu Naidu, emphasized that the reservation for Muslims in Andhra Pradesh is a matter of social justice, not appeasement. Lokesh highlighted that the state’s minorities have the lowest per capita income and suffer significantly, thus necessitating governmental intervention to alleviate poverty. Despite the BJP’s opposition to this policy, Lokesh asserted that the TDP would continue to support it. He stressed that inclusive development is crucial for the nation’s progress.

Lokesh also discussed the TDP’s focus on job creation and uplifting marginalized communities in Andhra Pradesh. Following Chandrababu Naidu’s arrest, Lokesh undertook significant efforts, including a 4,000-kilometer march, to connect with the masses and strengthen the party’s position. He condemned his father’s arrest as vendetta politics and called for the equal application of the rule of law.

Furthermore, Lokesh clarified that the TDP is not seeking ministerial posts in the new cabinet under Prime Minister Narendra Modi but is interested in securing funds for state development. This stance reflects the party’s prioritization of state interests over political positions.
